The Handball Association of Montenegro organized a ceremony where the jubilee was celebrated and plaques were presented to the players and members of the professional staff of the national team that won the silver medal at the Olympic Games in London in 2012.

And a decade later, it is the only Olympic medal for our country after the restoration of independence, which is why London has a special place in the history of Montenegrin sports.

The president of the Association, Petar Kapisoda, presented the plaques to the players and members of the professional staff, and the ceremony was attended by the Minister of Sports and Youth, Vasilije Lalošević, and the President of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee, Dušan Simonović.

"Silver from London represents the cherished dream of all the players who are here today and the success that marked their careers. The medal and the attitude you showed towards the jersey with the national coat of arms is a guide for all future generations who will represent our country at the biggest competitions. That sporting success has additional weight, considering the manner and emotion with which you, dear 'lionesses', confirmed from game to game that even from a small country you can deal with the giants of world handball. Even today, there is talk of a sports miracle that came from a small Montenegro. A decade has passed, but the memory of the unforgettable days in London still evokes the most beautiful feelings for all those who have handball and Montenegro in their hearts", said the president of the RSCG, Petar Kapisoda.

Plaques were presented to Marina Rajčić, Radmila Petrović, Jovanka Radičević, Marija Jovanović, Anđela Bulatović, Sonja Barjaktarović, Maja Savić, Bojana Popović, Katarina Bulatović and Majda Mehmedović, and members of the "lions" in London were also Milena Raičević, Suzana Lazović, Ana Đokić, Ana Radović and Jasna Tošković, who will later receive awards.

As members of the professional staff, plaques were presented to the then team manager Emir Bešlija and director Snežana Damjanac, while coach Dragan Adžić, assistants Vlatko Đonović and Milanka Čelebić, and physiotherapists Alen Pepić and Srđan Kojić were prevented from attending the ceremony due to their commitments.

A plaque is also awarded to Predrag Bošković, who was the president of RSCG in 2012.
