Slovenian handball players made a big surprise last night at the European Championship, at the start of the group stage they beat Denmark 28:26.
The Slovenian women outplayed one of the strongest European selections, "making" Dragan Adzić excitedly state:
"This is one of the most important victories in my career," reports sportfem.me.
When a man who has Olympic silver, European gold, titles in the Champions League says that, then it is clear what kind of success we are talking about.
"I am proud of my girls. At the opening of the championship, in front of our audience, their performance was at a high level. From the first to the last minute, they were together, they were a team," said Adžić.
Slovenia has known how to surprise before, for example when they beat France in 2017 and the Netherlands in 2019, but they did not have continuity.
"I think that this generation will not repeat some mistakes from the past," said Adžić.
Slovenia will play against Sweden in the next round.
