The handball players of Slovenia, led by Dragan Adžić, beat Serbia 27:24 last night and advanced to the second stage of the European Championship, while the Serbian team was eliminated.
A day later came accusations that the host of the group used espionage methods to prepare for the deciding match.
The RS of Serbia complained to the European Handball Federation, and as evidence submitted photos from the Instagram profile of president Milena Delić, which show two cardboard boxes at the top of the hall, with a phone or laptop, with which Slovenia secretly recorded Serbia's last training session before the deciding match.
The EHF informed that it had received the complaint and that it had requested a statement from the Handball Federation of Slovenia.
The Slovenians claim that there was no cheating, although their announcement seems somewhat frivolous.
"The organizing committee confirmed that there was no unauthorized recording of the training of the Serbian national team. While the Slovenian handball team was training in the hall, one of the members of the Slovenian national team celebrated her birthday, and the other members gave her a surprise that day, which they also wanted to film. Afterwards birthday surprise, the Slovenian national team continued their preparatory training," the announcement states.
