Bojana Popović: The worst edition in defense this season

The result speaks volumes for what the defense was like, although there were also a lot of goals from counterattacks after loose balls.

"We played in a great atmosphere, after a long time we had the opportunity to play in front of such good fans. In the first 15 minutes, we played well and were equal, the defense was at the required level, and we missed several great opportunities, I think there were nine of them in the first half", said Bojana Popović.

The world handball legend was disappointed with his team's defensive performance.

"Until the end of the match, we could not find six players who would know how to match the opponent in defense. The defense led us to defeat, this is perhaps our worst edition in that segment this season. "Although we weren't bad in attack, we couldn't have expected a better result after this edition in defense," said Popović.

And the captain Milena Raičević, who scored seven goals, pointed out that the bad edition in defense marked the visit to Bucharest.

"We were warmly welcomed in Bucharest and it was wonderful to play in such an atmosphere. I haven't felt this kind of atmosphere for a long time and I really enjoyed it. Rapid was better, we opened the game well, but there were a lot of missed shots, while in the second half the defense was very bad. I think bad defense marked this match when it comes to our edition. We have to forget the issue in the 2nd half and try to be better in defense in the next match," said Raičević.
