For Nemanja Grbović, the 28th World Cup ended before the biggest challenges began.
In a push with three Chilean handball players in the 23rd minute, he had the worst of it - he received a red card, he suffered a shoulder injury, so he will leave for Bucharest tomorrow morning, in order to recuperate at his club, Steaua.
The experienced Pljevljak's muscles and tendons were torn from the impact, because he fell directly on the shoulder of his right arm.
"It was very difficult and painful, I did not expect such an injury. It is not serious, but it is such that I cannot continue the championship. I'm lucky that the break won't be too long, just three or four weeks," Grbović said, admitting that he didn't close his eyes from the pain when his shoulder cooled down.
The "Lions" arrived in Poland with great ambitions, with Grbović the dreams of the quarter-finals would seem at least a little more realistic than now.
"I had a good feeling, we were preparing for this. We expected to go to the second round, although it was not easy, because all the national teams are playing well. We all couldn't wait to play big games with France and Slovenia, as well as with Poland, because the hall will be full".
Instead of one Pljevlja, another is already arriving tonight - the 22-year-old pivot of Slovenian Trimo Trebnja, Miodrag Ćorsović.
"I'm glad he's coming, because I know he's progressed and is playing well at his club. It is also good that he feels the charms of the great championship". At the end, Grbović said that he believes that his teammates will show quality in Group I even without him.
"You can do without everyone. The boys should relax, play without pressure and the results will come," said the 32-year-old winger and revealed why he is leaving Krakow immediately.
"I have to go back to the club, they already called me to recover. I hope that I will be on the field again in the second half of February, it all depends on how the recovery will be".
