PSŽ handball player Nikola Karabatić will be absent from the field for three months due to an injury to his right leg, the French club announced.
Karabatić was scrutinized at the previous handball World Cup, and after arriving at the club, he underwent additional examinations, after which it was established that he will be out of the field for a while.
PSG will try to reach the final tournament of the Champions League in Cologne without Karabatić. The team from Paris is currently the leader in Group A with 18 points after 11 games.
In the French championship, PSŽ is in second place with 28 points, the same number as the first-placed Montpellier, while Nantes is in third position with two points less.
Karabatić came to PSŽ in 2015 and since then the team has won the French championship every season. He also won three French Cups and three League Cups.
The French representative won the Champions League three times in his career, with three different clubs - Montpellier, Barcelona and Kiel.
The previous month, Karabatić lost to Denmark (34:29) in the final of the World Cup with France.
