New three-year contracts were signed today by Bojana Popović and her assistant in the professional staff, Maja Savić, the giant of women's handball also introduced the new fitness coach Milivoj Đurđić, and before the start of the 28th season in the Champions League, the main occupation of Buducnost Bemaks in the following years will be the return European crowns.
"You know what kind of conditions we worked in during the previous period, which were disrupted by the corona virus and some other things, but now we are on the right path - we have the right sponsors who have decided to return Buducnost to where it belongs. When you have such stability, then you can work in peace and build a team," said Bojana, who arrived at the Buducnosti bench in November 2020.
The legendary handball player, however, also looks at the previous period positively.
"Of course, those years were also useful for Budućnost, because our base was growing, and building young players is always one of the goals of the club," stated Popović at the press conference.
This practice will not be abandoned even in irregular seasons.
"This is how we will think and make plans in the next three years, the skeleton of the team will be our players, together with several experienced foreign players, we want to raise everything to an even higher level in order to reach the final four and what we all want, which is to return the title to Podgorica", Bojana is clear.
For Buducnosti handball players, the most important thing is that they have peace now...
"Financial stability is very important and it is important that we will be able to build a team for the next season from October," added Bojana.
Bojana Popović and Maja Savić as players brought the first - and long-awaited - European title to Podgorica.
"Even in 2011, when I came back, I had a clearly defined goal of winning the Champions League, and now I would like to do it as coaches of Budućnost," said Maja Savić.
She pointed out that she was glad that they had been trusted.
"I am also glad that we are more stable than in the previous period, and as Bojana said, now we will be able to bring in reinforcements on time and build a team as we wish," Maja is clear.
The "blue ladies" open the new season of the Champions League on Sunday against Bittighheim. Their rivals in the group will also be Đer, ĆSM Bucharest, Brest, Savehof, Odense and Debrecen.
Katarina Bulatović: The contracts show that we have a clear strategy
Bojana Popović and Maja Savić signed the contracts in the company of their former teammate from the golden period, Katarina Bulatović, who is now the sports director of Budućnost.
"With these contracts, the club has shown that it has a clear strategy of what it wants to do during the next three seasons, and I believe that it will be a return to the paths of success where it once was. That's why we took into account what would make it easier for us to let's go back there," pointed out Katarina.
And she emphasized that the club finally got out of all the problems it was in.
