The atmosphere in the "Bemax Arena", filled like this only when Montenegrin basketball players played in it, will be remembered, and the flashes of Vuk Borozan, who at times reminded us that he was once the world's elite, but also the impotence of Lovcen - Pero Milosevic's team is again "vented" in the 2nd half and experienced a convincing defeat in the 2nd round of the EHF European League against the giants of German handball, Flensburg (35:19).
From the beginning, Lovćen tried to slow down the rhythm, so as not to open counters for the rival with lost balls, and in the attack everything revolved around Vuk Borozan, who with several "bombs" reminded that he was once one of the best handball players in the world.
The winner of the Champions League with Vardar in 2017 scored his second goal in the 8th minute to make it 3:3 and, as it turned out, brought the last equalizer to Lovcen.
Emil Jakobsen drew sighs from the stands with several spectacular goals, and it was the Dane, whom Pero Milošević said at the press conference that he was the best winger in the world, in the 18th minute who scored from the seven and brought three points for the first time (11:8 ).
Milošević tried to stop the series of rivals with a time-out, but it all came down to the play of the backs, without passes to the wings. Captain Mirko Radović got the first usable ball only in the 25th minute and beat Benjamin Burić in 10:13, while Bojan Madzovski only stood in the attack, and in the defense he hid two sevens.
Fortunately for Cetinje, the German foreign legion didn't "stuck" too much, Nikolej Krikau's men often lost the ball, so the home team got closer to 12:14 two minutes before halftime with the goals of Radović and Petr Eraković.
Borozan reduced the lead to 13:15 with his sixth goal at the beginning of the second period, but that was all. Flensburg "tightened" the defense, several times Lovcen had the ball taken away due to a passive attack, and the difference on the scoreboard only grew.
Jakobsen was playing, in the 43rd minute he scored his ninth goal from the same number of shots for plus nine (24:15), soon it was 27:16, and with that result Filip Borozan saved a seven-pointer from Kai Smits and a shot from Axel Horgen.
It didn't help - Mads Mensa-Larsen tied two goals, so that the MVP of the European championships in 2018 and 2022, Jim Gottfridsson, who played the entire match in a slow rhythm, finally scored in the 52nd minute in 30:16.
In the second match of the 2nd round of Group E, Kadeten Schaffhausen defeated Elverum 32:30 in Switzerland.
