Bojana Popović announced the list for the World Cup: No Milena Raičević

The head coach of the Montenegrin women's handball team, Bojana Popović, announced the list of 19 players who will apply for a place in the team for the World Championship, which will be held in Denmark, Norway and Sweden from November 29 to December 17.

There is no Milena Raičević on the list, who recently sued ŽRK Budućnost Bemax for unpaid wages in the 2020/2021 season, when she was pregnant.

The management board of ŽRK Budućnost Bemax took away the captain's armband from Milena Raičević and sent her to the Rudar branch.

The list includes: Marina Rajčić, Marta Batinović, Ivona Pavićević, Dijana Mugoša, Nina Bulatović, Anastasija Marsenić, Nađa Kadović, Tatjana Brnović, Ivana Godeč, Bobana Klikovac, Andrijana Popović, Jelena Despotović, Nada Ćorović, Itana Grbić, Matea Pletikosić, Đurđina Malović, Jelena Vukčević, Nataća Ćorović, Tanja Ivanović.

The list includes 12 players who won a bronze medal at the EHF Euro 2022 (Rajčić, Batinović, Pavićević, Bulatović, Kadović, Brnović, Godeč, Popović, Grbić, Pletikosić, Malović and Nataša Ćorović), and the pivot of Romanian Korona Brašov Bobana Klikovac is returning to the national team after three years and will perform at the 2020 European Championship," the statement of the Handball Association of Montenegro (RSCG) points out.

The announcement adds that if they win a place in the team for the planetarium, Nada Ćorović, Jelena Vukčević and Anastasija Marsenić will make their first appearance at a major competition.

"The national team will train in Podgorica until Friday, after which they will travel to Poreč, where they will play control matches against the host Croatia and the Congolese team. From Croatia, the "lionesses" will travel to Helsingborg, where they will begin their World Cup appearance on November 30 with a duel against Cameroon. Rivals in the group are also Paraguay and Hungary, and the placement in the main round will be won by the three first-placed selections. For Montenegro, it will be the seventh participation in the planetary screenings, and the best result was achieved in 2019 by winning fifth place at the championship in Japan," the announcement reads.
