Serbia will arrive in Munich with the best players it currently has - the coach of Montenegro's rivals at the European Championship, Toni Gerona, announced the names of 20 handball players who will compete for the final 18 travelers to the continental championship.
Compared to January's World Cup, the new names on the list are Miloš Kos, Luka Rogan and Uroš Kojadinović, and the Spanish expert returned to the selection Miljan Pušica, who was absent from major competitions for a long time.
"Most of these guys, 75 percent, have been part of the selection since I arrived. This championship, if we give our best, will lead us to qualification for the Olympic Games, and that is the primary goal. We know it will be very difficult," said Gjerona, as reported by the media in Serbia.
In addition to Montenegro and Serbia, Iceland and Hungary are also in Group C of the Euro in Germany. The two best teams will continue the competition in Cologne, the city of handball that will host one group of the main stage and the final of the championship.
In mid-November, the head coach of Montenegro, Vlado Šola, announced a wider list of 35 "lions" he is counting on for preparations before the European Championship.
