The Lionesses are playing for placement and are waiting for their rivals in Paris

The semi-finals of the World Championship remained a dream after the painful defeat by Denmark and the strange decisions of the pair of referees from Algeria, so the Montenegrin handball players will play for the 5th to 8th place until the end of the Scandinavian World Cup and wait for their rivals to go to the Olympic Games.

The first rival of Bojana Popović's girls in the play-off for placement will be the Netherlands - today from 14.30:5 p.m. in Herning. The schedule from the 8th to the 2024th position will ultimately determine the composition of the two qualifying tournaments where two tickets for Paris XNUMX will be distributed.

With the entry of Norway and France into the semi-finals of the World Cup, as the current champions of Europe, i.e. the hosts of the Olympic Games, it became clear that the last direct visa to Paris will go to Sweden and Denmark.

The Danish women would go to the City of Light as champions or finalists, if they played with France, and they can also go as fourth place as a representative of the Old Continent if the Norwegian women win the title. Denmark or Sweden will play Japan and Cameroon in the qualifying tournament for the OI.

It remains to be decided with whom the selections fighting for placement from 5th to 8th place will play. The fifth- and eighth-placed team will fight for two places at the OI with Spain and Argentina, and the sixth- and seventh-placed team with Slovenia, led by our Dragan Adzic, and Paraguay.

The qualifying tournaments will be held from April 11 to 14 next year, and the hosts will be determined by the IHF.
