For those who follow handball a little less, the revelation of the 26th World Championship in the ranks of Montenegro was Dijana Mugoša.
The girl who got into the national team via a detour and through the "small door", and then was in the shadow of Majda Mehmedović, with her publications and the character she showed in Helsingborg, Gothenburg and Herning, she delighted the nation and finished the competition as the team's first goalscorer with 43 goals. And that one year and two months after she experienced one of the most serious injuries.
"I am proud of the team and myself, the return was very good. I did my best to play for the country as best as I can, I hope I lived up to everyone's expectations," Mugoša said.
It was not easy for her, but neither for Ivona Pavićević, Nina Bulatović and the young Anastasia Marsenić, because they had to "step into the shoes" of Mehmedović and Jovanka Radičević, who, along with the former Radmila Petrović, were perhaps the best wings in the world.
"These are our top wings, but we are trying to be their worthy heirs, and I hope we are." We are giving our best to transfer what we do well in the clubs to the national team, I believe we have done it".

Mugoša missed almost the entire last season because she tore her anterior cruciate ligament. She did not play at the European Championship, she was left without a medal because of that, but this season she is playing the best handball both in the national team and in the Romanian University.
"I feel great, as if nothing happened. That evil does not hear. Let's just keep it going."
In some matches, she also played on the right wing.
"It's not too unusual for me, because we already prepared it when we went to the Olympic Games, that I would play if Jovanka needed a replacement on the right wing. I'm already used to it, and it doesn't matter in which position I play, but only to make a real contribution".
Montenegro will fight for one of the two places at the Olympic Games with Germany, Slovenia and Paraguay, and the 28-year-old woman from Podgorica is convinced that she will see the lights of Paris.
"After this championship, I believe that we have great chances. We will give our best as always, we are full of confidence and happy that we played this well in the championship. We are the generation that is growing into real players and we are going to get a visa for the Olympic Games", concluded Mugoša.
