Montenegrin handball players have shown that they never give up, and I am happy that they have taken a big step towards the World Championship, Prime Minister Milojko Spajić said.
"The lions played three great games and deserved much more than one victory at the European Championship," Spajić wrote on the X social network and emphasized that due to a large number of commitments in Davos, he did not have a chance to enjoy the dramatic victory of our handball players.
In the last round of Group C at Euro 2024, Montenegro defeated Serbia (30:29) with Nemanja Grbović's goal in the last second and secured the first hat in the playoffs for the next World Championship.
This January, our country's water polo players also competed at the European Championship, who in the end took sixth place and will fight for a place in the Olympic Games at the World Championship, which starts already in February in Doha.
"Soon we will be with the 'sharks' again and cheer for them to qualify for the Olympic Games, after they showed the quality to reach Paris in Croatia - we believe in them! Good luck guys and girls, we are with you wholeheartedly," concluded Spajić.
