The draw in Paris today determined the groups for the handball tournament at the Olympic Games, where the host France will defend the gold medals in both competitions.
The men's handball team of France will play in group B with Denmark, Norway, Hungary, Egypt and Argentina, while in group A there are Spain, Croatia, Slovenia, Germany, Sweden and Japan.
The current Olympic champions, handball players of France, are in group B with the selections of Hungary, the Netherlands, Spain, Brazil and Angola, while group A consists of Norway, Germany, Slovenia, Sweden, Denmark and South Korea.
Slovenia, the Montenegrin expert Dragan Adžić, and Germany, the selections that were better than Montenegro in the qualifications, will also meet at the Olympic tournament.
The tournament for women's handball starts on July 25 and ends on August 10.
The handball players will start their competition the day after the opening ceremony, on July 27, while the final is on the last day of the Games on August 11.
