The women's handball club Budućnost is about to be shut down, the club's executive director and legendary Montenegrin handball player, Maja Bulatović, said in an interview with "Dan".
A few days ago, the general sponsor, the company "Bemax" left the club, so Budućnost is in a hopeless situation.
"On today's day, the club closes down. Unfortunately, it is neither the first nor the last, but that is the fate that awaited us. Ten days before the gathering of the team for the start of the new season, we lost our main sponsor and the club is in an unenviable situation. The problems are big, and in the past week we tried to minimize the costs and to terminate the contracts, because we are not in a position to pay anything to complete the first part in Jahorina (50 percent of the funds paid), that we have registered appearances at tournaments, that plane tickets have been purchased. 'Bemax' covered the expenses for the last season, but the remaining obligations for the sixth and seventh months - from rent, air tickets, players who were supposed to come," said Maja Bulatović for "Dan".
In the meantime, the Russian Valeria Kirdyasheva, who joined the club in mid-December last year and who, at that moment, was the third reinforcement for the upcoming season, has already left the team. Kridjaševa recently signed for Romanian Gloria.
"These days, annexes to the contract are being drawn up, so that we can pass without penalties and be free to choose a new environment. I don't know how we will succeed in that. The players who were supposed to come should be informed that they are not part of the club, that they are also free It's simple, the club is closed. There are private persons who work in the club. We simply had to re-register the club in order to fulfill the obligation of the then Minister Nikola Janović to register us. but we are not financiers. As far as I know, 'Bemaks' did not want to accept that the municipality owns 51 percent. As for us, the municipality can own 1.000 percent," said Bulatović.
Due to a similar situation, the EHF previously eliminated Vardar from the Champions League.
"It is very complicated. The contracts made by 'Bemaks', more precisely the contracts made by manager Katarina Bulatović and coach Bojana Popović, which formed the team, must be terminated. Also, I believe that Milena Raičević knowingly entered into that lawsuit, which I don't know if Budućnost will be kicked out of the Champions League because of the debt whether he will play in the Montenegrin league, who will manage him, I don't know at this moment, but we have obligations from the sixth and seventh months to the employees and creditors that we have to settle I know who will say that, because I am not a financier," concluded Maja Bulatović for "Dan".
