The club which has been a symbol of Podgorica for seven decades, which was twice the European champion and which produced many world-class athletes for the councilor in the capital, Mitra Šušić, is not a good example for children.
On Friday, the capital city took over the founding rights of the Buducnost Bemax Women's Handball Club, and during the discussion, Šušić, who is the president of the club of councilors of the New Serbian Democracy, announced that he would not support that decision.
"By pouring public money into a harmful social activity such as professional sports, nothing useful can be gained," began Šušić, the only one who did not vote for the aforementioned decision.
He also said that professional sports today do not promote anything of quality and value.
"Neither health, nor fair play, nor the maxim in a healthy body, a healthy spirit. Today, it is an environment suitable for money laundering and corruption and a type of human trafficking, essentially promoting everything that should not be human values," added Šušić .
As he said, from the point of view of social benefit, he cannot support that decision.
"I believe that this money and investment could have contributed more to the promotion of health and healthy lifestyles than investing in some failed professional club that will continue to deal only with its sponsors, its contracts, appanages, finances... With something that it has nothing to do with how our children will be raised and whether they will develop healthy lifestyles".
At the end he said...
"Someone who follows and idolizes professional athletes will certainly not grow into a healthy person".
