Budućnosti handball players are slowly picking up the rhythm and raising their level of form for the great challenges that await them in very strong competition in the elite competition, the club from Podgorica announced.
The team should be complete by the end of the week, after goalkeeper Sakura Hauge joins the preparations.
Pivot Klara Monti Danielson, one of the four players who arrived as reinforcements in the ranks of the two-time European champion, said that she had positive impressions after five days of working with her new teammates.
"I'm happy to be here and everything so far has been more than positive. I've been well received by my teammates, coaching staff and people from the club, I'm looking forward to continuing the preparations for the start of the new season," Danijelson said.
Danijelson, a 32-year-old pivot, came to Budućnost from French Chambray, for whom she played for the last three seasons.
Previously, she wore the jersey of Swedish Lugi, Danish clubs Randers and Esbjerg and German Borussia.
"I knew that I was coming to a club with a great history, where there is great work and which always has the desire to present itself in Europe in the best way. I appreciate the fact that coach Bojana Popović wanted to see me in the Budućnosti jersey, and I believe that I will to justify the trust and that I can make a big contribution to this young team," Danijelson said.
Bubućnost enters the new season with several more experienced players and a backbone made up of Montenegrin national team members, mostly those who do not yet have much experience playing on the biggest stage.
"We have a combination of experienced players who have a lot of experience and young girls who are talented. I am glad that I will have the opportunity to work with them. We have a lot of room for improvement in the coming period, we need to be combative and at a high level in every training and the match. If that's the case, I believe we can do good things," Danijelson said.
Bojana Popović's team will play in Group B in the Champions League against Norwegian Vipers, Danish Esbjerg and Odense, German Ludwigsburg, Hungarian Djer, French Brest and Romanian Rapid.
"We have a very difficult group, but we need to be focused on our form and results. We need to raise the level of play as the season progresses. I repeat, combativeness is what should adorn this team, and defense and counterattack could be our trump cards. It takes time to put everything in order, but I believe that we can surprise in the ever stronger competition," Danielson concluded.
