Buducnosti handball players start the European season on Sunday.
The rival is Rapid in Bucharest (16 p.m.), a team for which Montenegrin legend Milena Raičević plays, but whose coaching staff includes former national team player Igor Marković from this summer.
"The Blues" can't wait for the start of the season, but they also know that they are not in a situation to threaten anyone, especially since a little over a month ago there was a question as to whether the club would continue to function.
Nevertheless, the introduction to the Champions League was the right one, because the women from Podgorica won a strong tournament in Debrecen.
"We have a good feeling from Debrecen. We beat two extremely high-quality teams. It is very ungrateful to forecast the season, because our group is such that it contains the cream of European handball. But, also, no one can stop us from fighting and giving everything from ourselves. Let's go step by step, so let's see how it will look," said Jelena Radivojević (ex Despotović).
Rapid is a team that will only get better as the season progresses, Radivojević believes.
"He played in the Romanian Cup, I don't think he played very well, so I expect them to be much better. It must have been an alarm for them. I think they will show the best they have and can do in front of their audience. These are quality players, they also have oscillations, but we need to focus on ourselves".
Jelena Vukčević also expects a difficult task in Bucharest:
"There will be a good atmosphere and a tough match. There is no fear - we should not feel pressure and we need to be motivated. With a good feeling from the tournament in Debrec, we are going to Bucharest to do our best. The expectations for the new season are to gain experience, to grow as players and as a team, and I think that matches like this will mean a lot to us," said the young handball player.
