The point is celebrated as a victory - the Buducnosti handball players defeated the current European champion Djer (23:23) and moved from zero to zero in the 4th round of the Champions League.
The "Blues" matched the favorite brilliantly and, led by goalkeeper Sakura Hauge (16 saves) and Jelena Radivojević (seven goals and assists each), deserved to be happy.
"This is the only way to play against Đer - strong in defense and patient until chances in attack. We don't have a big rotation and it's difficult to play 60 minutes at this pace. Hauge did a great job in goal, all the girls fought and this is a team result," said Bojana Popović, coach of the Podgorica girls.
She does not hide that she is satisfied with both the game and the result.
"We have shown that we can progress and build something we believe in. If we could play like this against Đero, then we can definitely play against any team in the Champions League. In some games you manage to show it, in others you don't, but it's definite that we're improving as the season goes on. It is important that the players support each other, this is how self-confidence is built and they raise themselves individually, and all this brings a result".
Jelena Radivojević shone against her former club.
"I am proud of the team. I played in Đero and I know that in every game you give your best and want to win. We tried to slow them down as much as we could, we didn't change much. Hauge was outstanding in goal and we deserved this point", said the Montenegrin representative.
