Montenegrin handball players will play tomorrow (17) in Košice with Slovakia in the second round match of the second qualifying group for the European Championship.
At the start of the qualification, Montenegro beat Finland 29:28, while Slovakia was defeated by Hungary 37:32 in Djer.
"Against Finland, the fans helped us a lot. Against Slovakia, we have a tougher match ahead of us. We are without two important players. The national team is rejuvenated, and we expect help from the younger players. Slovakia plays fast handball, they play a lot of one-on-ones. There are no easy opponents at all, everyone is playing handball. The stakes are huge, because with this victory we are coming to the threshold of the European Championship. We will do our best to win and return to Montenegro with two points," he said. Miodrag Ćorsović.
Coach Didija Dinar will not be able to count on Vuk Borozan due to injury, and Vuk Lazović will not be in the lineup due to family reasons.
Dinar included Mihail Šćekić and Milorad Bakić instead of the two.
"The Slovaks will have a full house. They lost the first game, so they have a fight to fight in front of their fans. I think we managed to prepare for the game. We saw their system - I hope we can successfully deal with them. They are different the opponent compared to Finland - they are fast, penetrating, during the entire game they play a fast center and on the counter if we honor what we agreed on, it will be fine," said Stevan Vujović.
A victory in Košice would bring Montenegro one step closer to participating in the European Championships for the eighth time.
"We already have two points, but each national team plays differently in front of the home fans and loses hard. I hope that we will emerge victorious through the fight for 60 minutes," said Vujović.
