Another defeat and two faces of Budućnosti handball players - Esbjerg easily won "Morača" (27:23) in a duel in which the women from Podgorica made a much better impression in the second half.
The Danes had a lead of up to nine goals, the "blues" did their best to make the defeat bearable in the end.
"We knew it would be difficult at the beginning of the game, because we haven't played for four weeks and it's not easy to find a rhythm. We lost a few balls, we didn't use shots and the girls started to be insecure", said Bojana Popović, coach of Budućnost.
The young team did not want to give up.
"We had to push them and give them motivation to fight in the second half. I am satisfied that they did not give up completely, happy that they will be healthy for the next game. Every start of the match like this today is a problem for us. It was only when the girls started to believe in what we were talking about that we started to play better in the second half. It is clear that against a team like Esbjerg, mistakes must not happen like in the first half," added Popović.
The same rivals meet next Sunday in Denmark.
"We were passive in attack in the first half, we lost a lot of balls. We conceded many easy goals from the counterattack, and it was much better in the rest. I believe that in the next match against Esbjerg we can be at the required level for all 60 minutes", emphasized Klara Monti Danielson, a Swede from the ranks of Budućnosti.
