Iran and Chile at the World Cup in Krakow were the last two tied victories - almost two years and 12 competitive matches had to pass since then, for Montenegro to celebrate again in two games in a row.
The "Lions" are hungry for victory again, they are winning again thanks to the atomic attack - after Finland, Slovakia also fell in Košice 38:35 (23:18), so the ticket for the European Championship in 2026 is practically already in the pocket.
The second triumph in the second match of the new head coach Didier Dinar gained additional significance when it was known that the French traveled to Slovakia without Vuk Borozan and Vuk Lazović, and that Miloš Vujović was injured already at the start of the match in the "Stil Arena".
This time there were also certain omissions, above all in defense, but the most important impression is that Montenegro looked serious during the entire 60 minutes and that they controlled the events in Košice at all times.
Čepić and Vujovići
Thanks to Radojica Čepić and the three Vujovićs (Branko, Stevan and Miloš), the "lions" had a plus two at the start several times, and when the Slovaks came back to 8:8, another Vujović (Luka) between the three rivals forced the exclusion of Matuš Moravčik.
After that, Čepić continued to "bombard" (10:8), and practically the same movement of the results was seen until the end of the first 30 minutes, when Nebojša Simić "took off" the ziker to Erik Fenar, and Aleksandar Bakić scored in the finish for the biggest difference until then (21:18).
Bakić was unlucky with the zicers at the start of the second half, he was sent off after hitting the goalkeeper in the head, so the Slovaks got back into the game (22:21).
Simic's new miracles, flying attack
However, the back line - Čepić, Branko and Stevan Vujović - played the team brilliantly, the pivot Luka Vujović also scored, Simić performed miracles in the goal as usual, and goals came from the counterattack...
Branko Vujović scored two consecutive goals from such a game, so in the 43rd minute, Montenegro had a big plus five (29:24), and when the host took the lead for the last time (31:29), Bakić "erased" all the mistakes, so his two goals and Stevan Vujović's from their own half led our team to a new five difference 34:29.
At that moment, with ten minutes to go, it was clear that nothing could stop the "lions" from achieving another triumph...
Perhaps Dinar, one of the best defenders of all time, is expected to play steely defense with Montenegro, but after two matches and only a few training sessions, the attack looks great.
And, to "tighten" the defense, the legendary Frenchman will have time at the next gatherings, especially when it is known that until the end of the qualification, he will have practically no pressure of results.
