Milena Raičević is at a new beginning - only 11 months after she seemed to have solved the issue of the club until 2026.
Rapid from Bucharest decided to terminate the contract with our handball player, as well as with another star of the club, Marta Lopes.
"The club has informed the handball players that they are renouncing their services and that the decision will take effect immediately," writes the portal Gsp.ro.
Sources close to the club revealed to this portal that Rapid will have to pay compensation to Milena and Marta.
It is further stated that the legendary Montenegrin handball player had the second largest contract in the club - after the Dutch player Estavane Polman.
Milena arrived in Rapid in mid-December last year after she had to leave Budućnost. The board of directors of Budućnost Bemax first sent Raičević to the Rudar branch, because the captain sued the club for unpaid wages from the 2020/21 season when she was pregnant.
Soon there was a mutual termination of the contract, and after that a move to Bucharest.
The wages that Milena demanded from Budućnosti have not been paid to this day, so it is expected that the Capital, which took over the club during the summer, will do it.
Rapid is not shining this season - it has only one win in the Champions League (against Buducnosti), while it is sixth in the Romanian championship.
Milena is now looking for a new club, but before that she expects the European Championship with the national team of Montenegro, to which she returned after Suzana Lazović succeeded Bojana Popović as a selector.
