Buducnosti handball players were in the game for a long time in Denmark, in the end they had to accept their seventh defeat in the Champions League - Esbjerg won 26:19.
A large number of missed shots and as many as 23 lost balls are what bothers Podgorica coach Bojana Popović the most.
"Unlike the duel in Podgorica, we started well and had a good result after the first half, although there were mistakes. We kept our focus in defense and had a minimal deficit after 30 minutes, and then we created a lot of chances that we didn't realize. The opponent used that to break away," said Popović.
What is the cause?
"Esbjerg is not the reason for our mistakes, but fatigue and youth. Simply - young girls cannot answer these tasks. Although we reduced Esbjerg to an adequate number of goals in both matches, bearing in mind the potential it has in attack, we paid dearly for mistakes. To some extent, I can understand when technical mistakes happen during the game, but the ball falling out of the hands or the ball that we sent into the outfield - I can hardly accept that," said Bojana, who concludes:
"I wouldn't waste any more words on missed shots, because I know how much we work in training to make sure that doesn't happen to us. The players must understand that concentration is the most important thing and that they should use every chance they get against the best teams in Europe", concluded the legendary handball player.
