A perfect opening of the EHF Euro and worries about Milena Raičević - the "steel lionesses" were practically error-free against Serbia, winning (24:18), but perhaps remaining without a captain until the end of the championship.
"Milena said that her knee 'walked', but we need to wait for the findings and see what it is... However, as an experienced player, she stressed that she does not feel well. It would be a pity if she could not finish this championship, but she would definitely be with us off the field as someone who can help us coaches and teammates," said coach Suzana Lazović.
When it comes to the premiership at the European Championship, the main impression was left by the defense of Montenegro, for which Serbia had no solution.
"The defense has always brought results to Montenegro, and I will be guided by that as a coach. I'm not saying that the attack and other elements are not important, but everything starts from the defense. When we made mistakes, Armel Atingre was there and gave us extra wind... We took a big step, because the first game in the tournament is always the hardest," added the head coach for RTCG.
She could not hide her satisfaction after the first victory in a competitive match on the bench of the "lionesses".
"We showed that we can do it, I'm proud to be part of this national team and what I asked of them, which is to see the lionesses die on the field, and they showed it this time".
The next match of the "lionesses" will be played on Sunday at 18:1 against Romania, which in the 29st round was better than the Czech Republic (28:XNUMX).
"Everything is short-lived, we are turning to Romania and the Czech Republic, but I hope that in the end we will look forward to the goals we have set," concluded Suzana Lazović.
