Montenegro defeated Romania (27:25), recorded its second victory and took a big step towards qualifying for the main stage of the European Championship.
"Lionesses" led practically throughout the entire match, were in the red only once, and they opened the game brilliantly - after a seven-pointer by Dijana Mugoša, Montenegro won 8:3.
Then followed a series of rivals 6:0, Montenegro was scoreless for six minutes, so Romania took the lead for the first time after Lupei's goal - 9:8.
But then came Montenegro's response - after the series by the Romanians, the "lionesses" scored six goals and took a 14:9 lead after Dijana Mugoša's goal.
At halftime, Montenegro had a plus four (16:12), and in the second half, on several occasions, a five-goal advantage.
After a goal by Đina Jauković, the "lionesses" took a 27:23 lead with less than four minutes to go. And then Romania answered with two goals, came to 27:25, had an attack for minus one, but Batinović stopped Stojka.
Mugoša was the most effective with eight goals. Jauković and Pletikosić scored four goals each, and Brnović and Pavićević scored three goals each.
In Romania, Serafićianu was the most effective with six goals.
