During November and the first matches on the bench of Montenegrin handball players, the new selector Didije Dinar did not have much time and space to give opportunities to younger players, but everything is different this January.
The "Lions" will play two matches tomorrow (11:18.30) and on Saturday (XNUMX:XNUMX) with Greece in Thessaloniki, for which Dinar decided to count on a combined team, so that the guys who have played less so far will show that the legendary French can count on them .
"I think we have a tailor-made opponent, and everything will be a new opportunity - especially for us younger players to impose ourselves on the coaching staff for the next matches," said Miodrag Ćorsović, the pivot of Montenegro and one of those who previously had a notable role among "lions".
The strong guy from Pljevlja doesn't differentiate between friendly and competitive matches.
"When it comes to the national team, you go into every match to win, it doesn't matter who the opponent is," Ćorsović is clear.
He says about Greece...
"A very good national team, they have a domestic championship in which two quality clubs such as AEK and Olympiakos lead the way, and many of their players make up the Greek selection. On the other hand, we are in a combined team, we are missing some of the most important players, but we are going to we outplay and let the better one win," added Ćorsović.
There is no need to waste words on Hungary
At the start of Dinar's tenure and qualification for the EHF Euro, Montenegro registered two victories against Finland and Slovakia and took a huge step towards another big competition, and in March they are expecting a double match with Hungary.
It will probably be derbies for first place in the group.
"During the first two matches, we did a great job, and in March we have a national team that we don't need to waste words on, so Greece will be a great prelude for Hungary," Ćorsović has no doubts.
Luka Vujović knows the Greeks well: A chance for us younger people
In addition to Ćorsović, the position of round forward during these two matches will also be covered by young Luka Vujović, a guy who plays in Greece for Olympiakos.
"We expect two tough matches with Greece, and I know a lot of guys from that selection because I play with them... It's a quality national team, but if we play as the coach asks of us and as we've been preparing, I'm sure that a good result will not be missing." , says the handball player from Cetinje.
He sees the duels in Thessaloniki as a chance for his teammates and himself...
"We, the younger ones, want to show that the national team can count on us, but also that we play our actions as well as possible and get ready for March and two tough games with Hungary," Vujović is clear.
Hungary is definitely on my mind...
"I believe that there will be no pressure in those matches, and then we will play much better - certainly, as always, we will give the maximum for the national team," concluded Vujović.
