Last summer was spent in uncertainty when it comes to the future of Buducnosti, the European giant was threatened with shutdown, but in the end the capital took ownership and prevented the worst possible scenario.
New elections in Podgorica, new waiting for the formation of the government and renewed uncertainty when it comes to the Women's Handball Club Budućnost - this was revealed by the head of the professional staff Bojana Popović at the press conference before the continuation of the Champions League.
"Every month we wait to see how things will turn out, whether they will be paid or not, but the few of us who have been there since the beginning have gotten used to everything and it cannot disturb us, because it is not something new. It may be more difficult for the girls who have just arrived," said Bojana before the match with Vipers, which will be played on Saturday at 18 p.m. in "Morača".

"The worst thing of all is that we have no indication of what will happen now, we were waiting for the government to be formed in Podgorica, now we are waiting for the adoption of the budget, and waiting so long is a big question for the next season, how and what to do and whether we can manage to do something , because we don't know what we have," added Popović.
She emphasizes that this topic exists among female players.
"Where, what and how - and that can disrupt both work and motivation. We try not to allow all this, but we cannot remove this topic from our lives".
The professional staff and the players hope that soon everything could be clearer.
"They promised that these days we will know more about what we will be able to use next season. I sincerely hope that people will listen, because Budućnost is a big club and I cannot understand that everything is viewed through a different prism, and not through a sports one. I don't know how much longer? Everyone in the club is doing our best to represent the future, the city and the country in the best possible way, and I don't see any way to solve anything else through the club," said Bojana.
She is aware that she also needs the help of sponsors...
"The city as the owner should first allocate the budget to the club, and then together with the club deal with other things, such as sponsorships and thus raise Buducnost to a higher level. These are questions for the people in the club. Everyone should have an ear." Popović pointed out.
The match with Vipers will be the first for her team since November 17, when the break in the Champions League began.
"We worked a lot during the holidays, we did mini-preparations and paid attention to certain details, above all individual details. We used the time for the young players to gain strength, technique and to try to raise them to a higher level because we need that, if not for this year, but for the coming years. We played several matches with the men, and the girls were able to get a lot out of those matches," explained Bojana.
Buducnost won only one point in the previous eight matches, and that against the European champions Djerba, while in the first match with Vipers, regardless of the defeat, there were a lot of good things.
"We had a lot of time to talk about Vipers, and at the same time we felt them in the first match - we had 40 minutes of good play, and during the preparations we played a good match. We know each other quite well, I hope that everything we have worked on transfer to the field on Saturday and that the energy will be at a high level, to start well in the new year".
Even Vipers, who recently won the European championship three times, had financial problems, but...
"They saved, what we know is that the players who were there before are now wearing the Vipers jersey. Unlike us, they already played three games in the league in the new year and won every one. We are expecting a difficult game, most of their players performed at the European Championship, but we will try to find our rhythm and not give up on ourselves... We are playing at home, there is plenty of room to be better than the first match," Bojana Popović concluded.
