The handball player of the Greek club Nea Ionia (better known here as AEK), Ana Milačić, was yesterday awarded the Golden Plaque for exceptional sports results on the international level and the promotion of Montenegrin sports and values, awarded by the Montenegrin scientific journal "Montenegrin Journal of Sports Science and Medicine".

The award was presented by the editor of this magazine, prof. Dr. Duško Bjelica.

"First of all, I would like to say that I am proud to be a student of the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education. I am very honored by the award", said Ana Milačić.

She won the double crown (championship and Greek Cup) with the Greek club last season, which is why she received the award.

"The winning team does not change and I hope to continue with the same team and in the same rhythm for the next two years, for which I signed a new contract", added Ana Milačić and thanked for the award.

"It is no coincidence that this award was presented at the University Sports and Cultural Center, for several reasons, explained prof. Dr. Bjelica.

"The first is that the Center is a big brand, not only of the University of Montenegro but also of the country, and the second is that the magazine is a leader in the region and that the reason for today's gathering is the success of a young athlete, a student at the Faculty of Sports," said Bjelica.

Bjelica added that Milačić has a degree in economics, and that through his studies at the Faculty in Nikšić, he wants to gain certain knowledge that he will be able to valorize in practice, after a successful career, commenting that it is not at all easy to finish his studies in addition to a sports career.

Dean of the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education and one of the editors of the magazine, Stevo Popović, said that the Faculty is particularly proud of the fact that handball player Milačić is a senior in the Study Program for Handball Sports Coaches.

Popović also presented the journal "Montenegrin Journal of Sports Science and Medicine", which has been published twice a year since its founding in 2012, and is the only Montenegrin scientific journal that is indexed in the two most prestigious databases, Web of Science and Scopus, so it is the team became a brand in the field of sports science with a leadership position.

"The first winners of this magazine's award, in addition to Milačić, were the Montenegrin representative and basketball player of Valencia from Spain - Bojan Dubljević and the karate player of the team "Omladinac" from Podgorica - Mario Hodžić.
