The Danish handball team advanced to the World Championship finals after defeating Portugal 40:27 (20:16) tonight in Oslo.
Denmark was led to victory by Matthias Gidsel with nine and Rasmus Schmidt with eight goals. For Portugal, Antonio Areia with five and Victor Alvarez with four goals were better than the others.
Denmark will play Croatia in the final, which defeated France in the semi-finals.
The Danes have won the last three World Cups.
The final match will be played on Sunday at 18 pm in Oslo. The bronze medal match between France and Portugal will start at 15 pm.
