An unusual misfortune befell the Montenegrin handball team - in just a few days, our national team was left without its two first goalkeepers, Nebojša Simić and Nikola Matović, for an extended period of time due to injuries.
Both have torn the anterior cruciate ligaments in their legs and the "Lions" will most likely have to do without them at the European Championship scheduled for January.
The Handball Federation of Montenegro supported Simić and Matović through difficult times.
"In just 15 days, our national team has suffered two major blows - due to serious injuries, torn anterior cruciate ligaments in the leg, we will be without two exceptional guys and important pillars of our team for a long time," RSCG announced, adding:

"Nebojša, our experienced goalie and one of the symbols of Montenegrin handball, and Nikola, his worthy replacement and a guy with a great career ahead of him, have shown countless times how much heart they have when wearing the Montenegro jersey. We believe in your strength, character and fighting spirit – the same one you have delighted us with on the field for years."
They wished them a successful recovery.
"We are with you every step of the way to your return. We are waiting for you to come back even stronger, to be part of the national team again and to continue your journey towards new victories with your teammates," the Handball Federation of Montenegro concluded.
