The Montenegrin national handball team will be in pot three in the draw for the 2026 European Championship, which will be held in Herning, Denmark, on Thursday (19 p.m.).
A day after the end of the EHF Euro 2026 qualifiers, in which the "Lions" took second place in the qualifying round 2 behind Hungary, the European Handball Federation (EHF) announced the hat-trick lineups for the upcoming draw.
The draw will determine the six preliminary round groups, and it is already known that Germany will play in Group A (Herning), as well as Denmark, which is in Group B, Sweden is in Group E (Malmo), Norway is in Group C (Oslo), as well as the Faroe Islands in Group D, while Iceland will play its matches in Group F in Kristianstad.
The European Championship is being held in Denmark, Sweden and Norway from January 15 to February 1 next year.
For Montenegro, this will be their seventh consecutive, and eighth overall, participation in the European Championships.
