It is known that the Montenegrin women's handball team will play the first phase of the World Championship in Trier, that one of their rivals will be the Faroe Islands, and that if they advance, they will continue the competition in Dortmund.
Everything else will be clearer on Tuesday after the draw in 's-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands, where the "lionesses" will be in the highest-quality first pot.
"The World Handball Federation (IHF) has announced the squads, and the 'lionesses' are in a privileged position, after they were better than Portugal in the April play-off," the Handball Federation of Montenegro announced.
The Faroe Islands will be the rival from the third pot, and the balls will be determined by the remaining two opponents of Suzana Lazović's team in the first phase.
The draw will determine the composition of eight groups of four teams each, with the top three teams each advancing to the main round of the World Cup.
The World Championship is scheduled from November 26 to December 14, and will be the 18th major competition in which Montenegro will appear since regaining independence.
In addition to Trier and Dortmund, the World Cup will also be played in Stuttgart, 's-Hertogenbosch and Rotterdam. The famous Dutch port will host both the knockout stages (quarterfinals, semifinals and final), as well as Dortmund (quarterfinals).
