In his address to the members of the assembly, Nikolić emphasized that it was a great honor for him to be given the opportunity to lead a club that has a rich tradition, a recognizable name in European handball, and which has been the pride of Montenegro throughout Europe for years.
"I am proud to be at the helm of the largest sports institution in Montenegro and I am sure that, with joint efforts, Buducnost will succeed in returning to where it belongs - at the very top of European handball, and Podgorica will once again become the city of European champions. I believe that with dedication, professional work and strong support from all friends of the club, we will achieve great results and continue to write the history of Montenegrin and European handball. I owe special gratitude to Mayor Saša Mujović, who, through his personal engagement, has provided a stable financial structure and thus laid a strong foundation for successful business in the coming period," said Nikolić.
At the first meeting of the new Board of Directors, Goran Cmiljanić, a former handball player for Lovćen, Partizan, Spanish Granollers and numerous other clubs, who gained significant experience in handball structures after completing his playing career, was appointed as the new director.
"It is a great honor for me to be appointed to a responsible position in the largest Montenegrin club. Buducnost has always been a name that carries special weight in European handball and I am sure that by working together we will return the club to the place it deserves. It is especially important to me that we improve the work in the younger categories and provide a quality system for the future of the club," said Cmiljanić.
After the session, the gathered players, members of the coaching staff and the new Board of Directors were addressed by the Mayor of the Capital City, Prof. Dr. Saša Mujović.
"Today begins a new chapter for Buducnost, which was announced a few months ago when OTP Group became the club's general sponsor. We had a clear vision and belief that this club deserves stability, a strong system and a serious sports project. We have appointed members of the Board of Directors, which includes representatives of the club's sponsors and partners, representatives of current and former players, as well as a fan representative," said Mujović.
He thanked the club's current director Marijana Bulatović for her dedicated work in the previous period, expressing his belief that the new sports director will bring new energy and have good communication with the coaching staff, as well as work dedicatedly to creating a better system in the younger categories.
