The OTP Group Budućnost handball team suffered their second defeat in the Champions League this season - Bojana Popović's team was convincingly defeated by Storhamar in Norway today (25:14).
Buducnost didn't even manage to threaten today, their offensive play was weak, and a poor start to the game led the team to another defeat.
In the ninth minute, the Norwegian team took a 6:0 lead, and Budućnost was unable to find a way to the opponent's net until the 11th minute, when Tanja Ivanovic scored for 6:1.
It was already clear then that Buducnost was in a difficult situation, and Storhamar's advantage was only growing, so after Obaidli's goal, the Norwegian team gained a seven-goal lead for the first time - 9:2.
After another goal by Obaidla, the scoreboard showed a seven-point difference (10:3), and at the end of the first half, Buducnost came close to 12:8 after a goal by Jelena Vukcevic.
After Tomova's goal, Buducnost was down four again at the start of the second half (14:10), but Storhamar scored five goals and had a lead of nine for the first time - 19:10.
By the end, Storhamar had reached the maximum 11 goal surplus.
The most efficient player for Buducnost was Vukčević with five goals. Ivanovic and Tomova scored twice each.
At Storhamar, Obaidli had six goals and Mala five.
The future awaits Györ in the next round, on September 27th.
