Serbian football players disappointed in the World Cup qualifiers, and with a defeat to Albania in Leskovac (1:0), their chances of qualifying for the play-offs were reduced to a nightmare.
After the match, coach Dragan Stojković offered his resignation to Piksi, and in the end, the Football Association of Serbia relieved him of his duties, and everything was commented on by Veselin Vujović, a famous handball player from Cetinje, and today the coach of Qatar.
Vujović criticized Pixi, but also the authorities in Serbia.
"The great martyr Stojković stated that he is a responsible man and that he has offered his resignation to the leading people of the alliance. Which people? Those who should have resigned before him, those who did not even appoint him. Resignation is not offered, it is given. But you do not have the courage for that either, martyr," Vujović wrote on Facebook, as reported by the "Index.hr" portal.
He added that Stojković had achieved the impossible - to emerge from the legend.
"And in what way. You control the city, the stadium, the audience. You take the national team to play in Leskovac, on a field like that, because you are not allowed to appear anywhere else," he pointed out.
He continued in a similar tone.
"You are lowering the tone so that no one can hear what the people are chanting, and those same people, whom you brought and paid for, are expressing the opinion and dissatisfaction of all of Serbia," Vujović concluded.
