From minus 18 to plus 16 in two days, in a match in which there was no room for error. After a heavy defeat to Germany, the Montenegrin handball team "smashed" Serbia (33:17) and now awaits good news from the match Germany - Spain.
"The most important thing is that we psychologically recovered from a tough defeat in this way and that we showed great fight and such dominance," said Montenegrin coach Suzana Lazović.
If a 100% Germany wins at least a point against Spain in the match that starts at 6 pm, the "lionesses" will deservedly advance to the quarterfinals.
"I'm happy that we played the last match at a high level and I believe that if Germany wins, we will enter the quarterfinals with a higher level than before," added Lazović.
The coach did not hide her enthusiasm for her players.
"I'm happy and proud that the girls gave me this feeling, and I believe we'll continue to show something similar in the future."
Did Montenegro deserve for Germany to do what it had to do and open the door to the quarterfinals?
"Only the Golden Lionesses can do this, and only they can come back after such a defeat - we are not here because something fell from the sky, we deserve it," Suzana Lazović is clear.
