The German and Norwegian women's handball teams will play in the final of the 27th World Championship today at 4:30 PM in Rotterdam.
Germany defeated the official champion, France, 29:23 in the semifinals in Rotterdam and secured a world medal after 18 years.
Norway also outclassed the Netherlands with a score of 35:25, so only the Montenegrin team avoided defeat by a double-digit margin against the whirlwind Scandinavians.
The Norwegians are the official European and Olympic champions, and will be playing for their fifth world title. Germany last won the championship trophy in 1993 in Norway. Both teams came into the match for the trophy with maximum performance.
France and the Netherlands will play for the bronze medal at 1:30 p.m.
