A win (36:25) and a draw (37:37) is the balance of the Montenegrin national handball team in the duels with Bosnia and Herzegovina before the start of the European Championship, which is being held from January 15 to February 1 in Denmark, Sweden and Norway.
During the previous two matches, coach Didije Dinar gave all players a chance, and yesterday he spared Vuk Borozan and Radojica Čepić.
"We played the first match with a lot of rotations, all players got a chance, it was a pretty complete edition. Today we spared Borozan and Čepić, and in general the last checks are always specific, which was shown this time as well," said Dinar after last night's match.
Montenegro will play their first match in Group D at the European Championship on Friday (18) against Slovenia. On Sunday (18), the "Lions" will play against the Faroe Islands, and on January 20 (18) against Switzerland. Two teams from the group advance to the next phase, meeting with teams from Groups E and F, forming a new group from which two teams will advance to the semifinals.
Group E includes Sweden, Croatia, the Netherlands and Georgia, and Group F includes Hungary, Iceland, Poland and Italy.
"We are always ready to play and now we need to focus on the first match in the championship, which is always specific, and in this case of exceptional importance," said Dinar.
Dinar has not yet decided who he will not take to the continental parade.
"We need to wait until the last moment because there can always be an injury or some other problem. We will wait until the last moment to publish the final list. I believe that the only 'problem' is us, that is, that we should focus only on ourselves. To correct mistakes and draw positive things out," said Dinar.
Miloš Vujović was the most efficient player last night with seven goals.
"We can learn a lot from these two games. There were more positives than negatives. It's good that we won by 11 points in the first match, that's a good indicator. The second match was quite different, one of the reasons being that it was the last test before leaving for the championship and many players were trying to avoid injury. I can justify such an approach. There was no audience either, so that motive was missing. All in all, I'm happy with everything we achieved. Most of the guys remained uninjured. We are ready for the European Championship, all that's left is to agree on some more details," said Vujović.
