A big boost for the two-time European champion - Đurđina Jauković will play for Buducnost again next season.
The captain of the Montenegrin handball team arrives from ĆSM Bucharest, and will defend the blue and white colors again after six years.
As announced by the club, Đina has signed a three-year contract.
"Another transfer that is significant for both the club and the Montenegrin national team, because the two-time European champion is, step by step, once again becoming the foundation of the national team," said Buducnost.
The Podgorica club previously brought back Ivona Pavićević, another member of the Montenegrin national team, and the contracts of Itana Grbić, Jelena Despotović, Armel Atingre, Jelena Vukčević, Nina Bulatović, Ivana Godeč, Nađa Kadović, Marija Marsenić, Andrea Škerović, Dunja Radević were extended.
In the meantime, Jovana Skrobić (formerly Kovačević), a member of the Serbian national team, has returned, and Croatian national team member Hana Vuljak has arrived, as well as Suna Hansen, who plays for the Faroe Islands.
Buducnost reminds that Đurđina Jauković is one of the most deserving players for Montenegro's bronze medal at the 2022 European Championship, and that after leaving Buducnost in 2020, she played for four seasons in Brest, France, after which she moved to ĆSM Bucharest on the eve of last season.
With new reinforcements (of which there should be more) and with the team's backbone preserved, the giant from Podgorica should finally be competitive in the Champions League again next season after many years.
"The return of Đurđina Jauković represents a strong step forward for Buducnost, considering that she is one of the best players in the Montenegrin national team and a handball player with rich experience on the biggest European stage. She is currently playing her 11th season in the Champions League, and her leadership, continuity and quality give an additional dimension to the club's ambitions in European competitions," concluded Buducnost.
