Metz is an exceptional opponent, a team that is planned to win the Champions League, said OTP Group Budućnost coach Zoran Abramović.
Buducnost and Đer will play a match in the 11th round of Group A of the Champions League on Sunday in Podgorica.
The first head-to-head match went to the French representative, who celebrated 38:18 in front of their fans.
Metz is the second-placed team in Group A with eight wins and two losses.
Buducnost recorded one win and one draw, with eight losses.
Abramović recalled that Metz participated in the last two Champions League finals and was very close to winning the trophy.
"Mec, along with Győr and Esbjerg, are the most serious candidates for the Champions League trophy. They have four French national team players in their ranks, members of the first team, who won bronze at the last World Cup. They have Ksenia Smits, one of the best German national team players, who played in the World Cup final," Abramović said at a press conference.
Speaking about the quality of his rivals, he emphasized that Metz's roster includes two national team players from Sweden and Hungary, as well as that the club's jersey is also worn by one of the greatest talents in world handball, Bečiel Ngombele.
"A team built for great achievements," said Abramović.
He emphasized that the Podgorica women's handball team faces a big challenge, especially due to the bad impression in the first game in Metz.
"They took us seriously and played at a high level for all 60 minutes. It's up to us now to improve that impression and play a good game, not to fall below the level we played in the last four. I expect a fighting Buducnost, although we have a lot of personnel problems, which I hope will not be felt on Sunday," said Abramović.
Speaking about the characteristics of their rivals, he said that Metz plays fast, like Borussia Dortmund.
"Constant transition to not allow the opponent to make a change of defense - offense and in that way, practically with the player they get more chances to score. They have an excellent rotation, they are well covered in every position," said Abramović.
Sunday's duel at the "M:tel Morača Hall" starts at 16 p.m.
