OTP Group Budućnost wants to say goodbye to the fans with a victory and leapfrog Storhamar in the standings, said the coach of the Podgorica handball team, Zoran Abramović.
Buducnost and Storhamar will play tomorrow in Podgorica (16) in the 13th round of Group A of the Champions League.
The Podgorica team has the opportunity to cede last place to Storhamar by winning Sunday's duel.
The Norwegians won their first match 25:14, and so far in the competition they have achieved two triumphs and have one point more than Buducnost.
They are winless in their last eight games, and their last win in the Champions League was on October 4th in Dortmund against Borussia 26:22.
Abramović said that they are facing a good opponent, with only one point more than the Podgorica team.
"We have a chance to surpass them with a win, but again, a typical representative of the Scandinavian school of handball that has several Norwegian national team players in its ranks. They are characterized by good shooting from the outside, strong and precise shots and good transition," Abramović said at a press conference.
According to him, the Podgorica team expects a challenging match, against a team that still has a chance of reaching the round of 16.
"For them, it's a to-be or not to-be match, but we don't care. We need a win for confidence. We've been playing well lately, we showed 40 very good minutes with Đero away. What's spoiling our game is the lack of left-handed players, and you know that Jelena Vukčević and Tanja Ivanović are injured," said Abramović.
He emphasized that youth is the strength of Buducnost, but that at the same time, the lack of experience causes mistakes that are easily punished by far more experienced teams.
"I'll just tell you that in the final match against Đero, we had players born between 2004 and 2008. I'm sorry that we missed our chance against Borussia Dortmund because now we would be preparing for a match in which a triumph would guarantee us a place in the round of 16," said the coach of Buducnost.
He emphasized that Buducnost must reduce the number of technical fouls and specified that in the last match they had ten more than their opponents.
Speaking about the rival, he pointed out that it was a specific team that caused problems for everyone.
"This is the team that has the most shots from outside nine meters, they have a good repertoire there. Storhamar lost one game by over ten points, all other losses were under five," said Abramović.
