The Montenegrin men's handball team will gather tomorrow and begin preparations for the play-off match against Slovenia for a place in the World Championship.
The first leg of the play-offs will be played on May 14th at the Morača Sports Hall, while the return leg will be played in Koper three days later.
Coach Didier Dinar is counting on 18 players for the two-legged tie against the team that won eighth place at the January European Championship, while two are on the reserve list.
Compared to the March qualifiers, in which two victories were achieved against Finland, the new names are Aleksandar Glendža and Filip Vujović, who, thanks to their good performances in their clubs, earned the attention of the coaching staff and were again called up to the national team.
The list does not include the injured Arsenije Dragašević and Vuk Borozan, who ended his club season early, as well as Miloš Božović, who has not fully recovered from the injury that caused him to miss the European Championship in January.
The list includes:
Goalkeepers - Nebojša Simić, Nikola Matović and Haris Suljević;
Wings - Aleksandar Bakić, Miloš Vujović, Luka Radović, Vojislav Vukić and Filip Vujović;
Pivots - Miodrag Ćorsović, Luka Vujović and Admir Pelidija and
Defenders - Branko Vujović, Milorad Bakić, Radojica Čepić, Stefan Čavor, Risto Vujačić, Aleksandar Glendža and Emir Đulović.
The reserve players are Mihailo Šćekić and Vladan Lončar.
Vujović and his teammates will try to pull off a surprise in the upcoming doubleheader against Slovenia and, after 2013 and 2023, win their third participation in the world championships.
A media gathering and briefing is planned for 18 p.m. in the Verde Hall.
