Handball Europe will have a new champion.
This is clear after the first semi-final of the Champions League, in which Fuchs Berlin defeated Magdeburg, 40:35, in a rematch of last year's final.
"The Foxes" will play against the winner of the match between Aalborg and Barcelona in the Final Four (18pm).
During the first half, Fukse had a three-goal advantage on several occasions, and they went into the break with a "plus two" (19:17). Nikolaj Krikau's team started better in the second half of the match, reaching a four-goal advantage (23:19) and then stopped.
Magdeburg woke up and took the lead with 11 minutes left - 33:32.
When it seemed that the momentum was going to the rivals' side, Fukse found their rhythm again. With a 6:0 run in nine minutes, the "Foxes" turned the game around.
Matthias Gidsel was the most efficient player in the winning team with nine goals and six assists. He was followed by Tim Frejhofer with one goal less.
Omar Ingi Magnuson was the most enthusiastic player in the Magdeburg team - nine goals from 11 attempts.
