The women's junior handball national team of Montenegro won at the start of the qualifying tournament for placement in the European Championship.
Montenegrin juniors defeated Belgium 22:13 (12:7) in the first round of the third qualifying group today in the Slovak town of Mihalovce.
The most effective player in the Montenegrin national team was Tamara Jovićević with seven, Ana Saranović scored four, and Anđela Nišavić and Tatjana Brnović each scored less.
Lejla Bošnjak and Nikolina Knežević entered the scorers' list twice each, and Jelena Šćepanović once.
In the Belgian selection, Loti Antonisen and Celine Clemon scored three goals each.
Montenegro will play France in the second round, tomorrow at 15:30, while a duel with Slovakia is scheduled for Sunday (18.00:XNUMX).
Placement to the European Championship, which will be played in Slovenia from July 27 to August 6, will be won by the two best selections from the group.
