Three rounds before the end of the league part, the starting positions for the playoffs are determined in the championship (Budva first, Budućnost second, Jedinstvo third), but the Montenegrin men's volleyball scene begins to unfold from the semi-finals of the Montenegrin Cup.
The semi-final derby is played today (18:XNUMX) between two of the three contenders for the title, Jedinstvo Franca and Budućnost Capital Plaza meet in Bijeli Polje.
"One of the most important matches in this part of the season awaits us. We enter the match after a defeat in the derby against Budva, so it makes our job more difficult, but I am sure that we have the quality and experience to deal with it in the right way and show the quality that without a doubt, we have it. I would invite the audience to support us in this important game and to achieve an important victory together," said the coach of Jedinstva, Darko Prebiracevic.
Bućućnost was better than the champions of Jedinstva in both championship matches, both times with 3:1, but the Whites strengthened themselves in the winter transfer window and changed the look of the team, which has the highest ambitions.
"For us, the Jedinstva team is unknown because it underwent numerous changes compared to the first part of the season, so the first match will be extremely difficult. I certainly expect a high-quality and interesting match, and we will do our best to get the best possible result before the second leg. Experience is on the opponent's side, however, these are matches where some other things can decide the winner, and I believe that we have the quality to achieve a great triumph," said coach Budućnost Capital Plaza. In the second semi-final match, from 19:XNUMX, Budva, undefeated this season, is the absolute favorite against Sutjeska.
The return matches will be played on February 23.
The teams that will have more points from the two matches go to the finals (three points for a 3:0 or 3:1 victory, two for a 3:2 victory with a point for the defeated team).
