The decision to delete the Judo Federation of Montenegro (DŽSCG) from the register of sports organizations represents the arbitrariness of the Minister of Sports Nikola Janović and a clear intention to abuse the powers prescribed by law to commit legal violence, said the president of the association, Dragomir Bečanović.
He emphasized that the Judo Association is one of the most trophy-winning and best-organized Montenegrin sports, stating that this is best confirmed by the Montenegrin Olympic Committee and the classification in the first category.
"DŽSCG submitted the draft statute and all the necessary documentation within the deadline prescribed by law, until January 15, 2019. We were ready for cooperation and in direct communication with the Ministry we worked on harmonizing the statute. We submitted it with a note that if something is disputed that we are ready to correct," said Bečanović at the press conference.
He emphasized that instead of consent, they received a decision from the Ministry of Sports on deletion from the register of sports organizations.
"We were deleted because we didn't submit a request, even though we did. We didn't report the documentation, even though we attached it. We didn't cooperate in the process of harmonizing the statute, which is a flagrant untruth," said Bečanović.
He reminded that the Judo Federation has already won a verdict before the Administrative Court against the Ministry of Sports and that he believes it will do it again.
"We are sure that this time too the Administrative Court will make a decision based on the law. The partners of Minister Nikola Janović in discrediting and destroying the judo federation are some of the clubs whose illegal work we have pointed out for a long time. First of all, I am thinking of Milenijum, which received funds from Ministry of Sports did not spend on the program of their best competitor Ivana Šunjević," said Bečanović.
He stressed that the decision on deletion is not legally binding, stating that the Judo Federation has sent the lawsuit to the Administrative Court.
"I have no doubts about the court's decision. I believe that there is not a single percent chance that we made a mistake. The decision was made to delete the act that was being prepared for harmonization. The deadline was March 15," said Bečanović.
National coach Rajko Mrvaljević said that Montenegro has one of the most talented generations, especially highlighting the brothers Gardašević and Danil Pantić.
"I am not a judge to decide who is right - the ministry or the judo federation, the Administrative Court will decide. The only injured are the national team members, whose only desire is the norm. I appeal to Minister Nikola Janović to return judo to where it belongs and to allow the boys to work , to all those who respect the national coach, the federation and the code," said Mrvaljević.
He disputed the number of clubs that sent support to Janović, stating that the number was significantly lower and that the seals and signatures of some clubs were forged.
Member of the Board of Directors, Jovica Rečević, invited Janović to schedule a meeting and overcome the differences in immediate communication.
"We don't have them, let's hear from the ministry as well. Let's not deal with correspondence, but let's solve it immediately. Everything is in the interest of the athletes," said Rečević.
