After several announcements from the Judo Association of Montenegro, the Ministry of Sports and Youth announced that the association was deleted from the register of sports organizations, because it did not harmonize the statute with the Law on Sports.
"Freedom of association is guaranteed by the Constitution of Montenegro. The registration of certain associations or organizations with the competent authority is regulated by special regulations for that area.
"Organizations that do not respect the method of registration prescribed by special laws, or more precisely, do not respect the laws of this country, are not recognized by the legal order," the announcement states.
The announcement states that "in order to regulate the sports field, and the need to build democratic rules in the bodies of sports organizations, the new Law on Sports abolishes 'pharaonic' statutes and enables equality in the decision-making of all clubs that should work for the benefit of sports and athletes."
The personal interests of the leadership of certain sports federations are exposed in this way, which in this particular case can be seen through the lascivious media statements of individuals who do not even hesitate to falsely present themselves as the Judo Federation".
"As the Ministry of Sports and Youth works exclusively in the interest of sports and athletes, confirmation of compliance with the law also comes from international addresses. "The pressures of yesterday's leaders of the Judo Federation, who, along with the logistics of their media sports mediators, are trying to mislead the Montenegrin public, both sporting and lay, have not borne fruit," the announcement states.
"The Ministry of Sports and Youth, in cooperation with the International Judo Federation, enabled Montenegrin judokas to apply for international competitions, which clearly proves that individuals will not be allowed to hold a mortgage over judo in our country.
The work of the Ministry is transparent, there is no establishment of sports organizations 'under the cover of night', but there is respect for the Constitution and laws of this country.
We will not allow pressures, deceptions and the fight for personal interest, which is quite materialized when it comes to sports, to create a false image of non-existent problems, because problems exist only in the minds of the 'fighters' for the material gain they have achieved for years through sports organizations and behind the backs of our athletes and their results", the announcement states.
