Andrija Čađenović was appointed president of the new Judo Association, Novica Milović is the head of the Assembly, while Srđan Mrvaljević was elected sports director, the association announced.
It is stated that today the new Judo Association received a decision from the Ministry of Sports and Youth on registration in the register of sports organizations.
It was announced that the founding Assembly was held on March 1 and that 18 clubs attended.
It is stated that the establishment of the new Association was initiated by six clubs.
It was announced that the new association is not the legal successor of the Judo Association, but a completely new organization.
"Because of the period that is behind us and the problems that judo faced in the past period, that sport has experienced stagnation. Our task is to set up an organization and build harmony that will work for the benefit of all athletes and sports workers, to give our maximum contribution to it" , said the president of DŽSCG Andrija Čađenović at a press conference.
"It is our obligation to contribute through work and commitment to putting judo and the association, which I am at the head of, in the place it belongs to. Let us strive to return the glory to the sport of judo that it deserves. The doors of the DŽSCG will be open to everyone, and all for the purpose of the formation and progress of judo", Čađenović said.
The President of the Assembly, Novica Milović, emphasized that the deletion of the previous association from the register of sports organizations created a condition for the establishment of a new one.
"We formed an initiative committee and it consisted of six clubs. The Founding Assembly was attended by 18 clubs, 16 full clubs with decisions from the Ministry of Sports and two with decisions on re-registration in the procedure. We are a new organization with the aim of presenting Montenegro and Montenegrin judo in the best possible way," Milović said
Sports director Srđan Mrvaljević said that the leaders of the new association are not criminals and legally convicted persons, but proven people in the fields in which they work.
"We are all Montenegrin judo, we represent it and we do it in the best way." We will prove that. Thank you to the Ministry of Sports for the great tolerance it had towards the former Judo Federation, because it waited two years for them to harmonize the Statute and other acts with the Law on Sports. They were given a chance because of the athletes and the reputation, the status of judo in Montenegro. That was not done and we were forced to establish a new organization with the best clubs," said Mrvaljević.
He emphasized that he accepted the position of director and that he is aware of the enormous responsibility it carries.
"I will put all my capacities into the function of DŽSCG." Our goal is to raise judo to a higher level together, that is, to return it to the place it was. I hope that we will quickly achieve results that we will be proud of. "Thank you to the Ministry of Sports, state and international sports institutions, the World Judo Federation for showing a degree of tolerance and doing everything to ensure that our competitors do not suffer," said Mrvaljević.
He emphasized that everything is subordinated to the interests of athletes.
"I guarantee that all judokas will have the respect that top athletes have and the chance to use your full potential and show it." DŽSCG will treat all competitors with full respect. A big thank you to the clubs that saved judo from being shut down and kept it going," Mrvaljević said.
He also thanked the World Judo Federation for suspending and not deleting the Montenegrin association from its membership.
"The world association came to our aid, because in situations like ours, membership is lost." We are currently suspended and have not lost our membership, that is, we do not have to wait for the next Congress to apply for admission. "With good communication and the goodwill of the World Judo Federation, I believe that we will quickly restore full membership and our marks on the fighting grounds," said Mrvaljević.
He could not specify when this will happen, stating that he expects it to be very soon, after the Ministry of Sports informs the World and European Judo Federation about the formation of a new organization.
"We are not the legal successors of DŽSCG, but a completely new organization," said Mrvaljević.
The Judo Federation, which was deleted from the register of sports organizations, announced yesterday that on February 18, it initiated an administrative dispute with the Administrative Court of Montenegro, and that the decision on deletion from the register cannot be final until "the decision of the Administrative Court on this lawsuit".
They also stated that another association was registered under a different name - Judo Association of Montenegro.
"The former union appealed to the Administrative Court at two levels, the first for a temporary measure and it was rejected and that decision is final. At the second level, where they filed an appeal against the foundation act, I don't know what the decision will be. The administrative court gives an opinion, does not decide who is guilty or not, or sends it back for a new procedure. We, as well as the former association that relies on a team of lawyers, have consulted fully legally and we are sure that there is not a single percent violation of the Law. That will show over time," said Mrvaljević.
He reminded that the competition for the distribution of funds has ended and that the newly formed alliance cannot count on those funds.
"I expect the support of the Ministry of Sports and the help of state sports institutions and businessmen." Now it is important for us and now we need help", said Mrvaljević.
He announced that Dragan Šćepanović for men and Jelena Šutović for women will perform the function of selectors.
The general secretary will be Lazar Daković.
