Gloves on hands, hitting the bag, sparring, running - that's Miroslav Vujović's working day.
The Montenegrin kickboxer is preparing to perform at the prestigious K1 tournament, which is organized in the city in the heart of Europe, Prague, Czech Republic.
"Perhaps this is the biggest test in my career so far," Vujović said.
The K1 tournament in the super heavyweight category, in which eight fighters will appear, will be extremely physically demanding, everything is resolved in three hours of elimination fights - that's why the preparation for such a challenge was different from the others...
"We burned out in the previous weeks, really! We tried our best, all the boys from the club contributed, led by coach Predrag Lekić. We really did everything to raise the form to the maximum level," said Vujović, a member of Ariston.
And his coach believes that Vujović is ready for a big challenge.
"We have been training well all these days. Vujović has been in training since January. We met the last days of preparation in excellent shape. I hope that Vujović presents himself well in Prague," said Lekić.
Vujović will find out his opponent in the quarterfinals the day before the tournament at the draw, when the official presentation of the fighters is planned.
"The opponents are really good fighters, especially the Polish Michal Turinski, who has a rich kickboxing career, and was a professional world champion in the WAKO federation. We'll see what the draw will be, but it will be hard, fight after fight. Maybe I'll be a little careful in the first, but I want to go to the end. I am physically and mentally ready," said member Vujović.
In a tournament of this type, the details decide...
"He is certainly well prepared, but so are the others. They are fighters of equal quality and they are all approximately in Vujović's rank," explained Lekić.
It was announced that, in addition to Vujović, Czechs David Vinš and Michal Reisinger, Poles Jakub Kozera and Michal Turinski, Russian Timur Ishmuhamedov, Austrian Tomas Frošauer and Belarusian Zahar Trofimov will also participate in the tournament.
The tournament in Prague is on July 25. The fights will last three rounds of three minutes each.
